Incredibly fun, but painfully basic. Try enhancing the visuals a bit, and this has some definite potential!
I felt like the graphics looked best this way, given the context. If I make another version, I may try going for an isometric view, which would allow me to crank the graphics up a couple notches. As it is, I don't feel like the graphics can be improved much. Even Stick Arena, which was made by and is maintained by a team of people, uses black blobs as graphics.
It's good to see you got this up! The gameplay is sweet, and it stayed true to the original. As for the artwork, really well done! Overall, the only bug I found was switching direction mid-air. I locked up and couldn't fire again.
Immediately, I thought "Canabalt"
This is a nice little game. I love horizontal distance games. This one is special in that you can unlock upgrades. The only problem I have is that once get get up to about twenty-five MPH, if you fall, the game seems terribly slow starting at five MPH.
Took me a few hours.
The tower's more than a game; it's grrrrrreat!
(Don't sue my ass, Tony!)
Anyway good job.
It would be a good game for medals.
Especially the music. Loved it since I saw Requiem for a Dream.
Great playability and obstacles.
Great game, but...
Next to impossible with a laptop mouse. But, I have played it with an actual mouse, and it is fun! Make it a little more flexible
Lovely peice of work!
It isn't a wonder you got a front page! Great work!
I come here with but one complaint: there is an FPS drop when a level is completed.
Good, but not Great.
It was fairly simple, and reminiscent of the Ball Revamped series. Not quite challenging enough. The cheat is simplistic to find if the player is bored and has the mouse zooming across the stage...I found it around stage 4.
The ability to do better than I, +2
Easy to learn controls, +2
Multiple Levels, +2
A programmed Cheat, +2
Glitch Free, +2
Simplistic and unoriginal, -2
Very uncolourful palette, -1
Keep trying, man. I expect to see more from you! :D
Thanks for the criticism, i'll try to improve those aspects in the next game i make. By the way, this is the third thing i do in flash and also my first semi-decent game.
i am confused, i put in the code and when i test the game my character sinks halfway into the ground.HELP!!! Anyhoo...its a very helpful tutorial and everything works at least a little, and best yet you EXPLAINED THE CODE!!!
on the if touchingGround bit, did you put _y--? If its not there, I think that usually happens.
compress your music, dude. there's no way that one maze should take up more than 2 mb. Seriously. I understand that this is the daily maze series but you need to take a little more time. 4/10 2/5
